University Description
With about 3000 students and 300 academic staff, the West Jutland University College plays an important role in education regionally as well as nationally. The West Jutland University College has a professional focus and an obligation to combine theoretical studies, innovative work and applied research with practical implementation and cooperation in the following fields: Teaching, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Midwifery, Social Education, Social Work and Nursing. Continuing professional education and post-graduate diploma courses are offered within these fields. In cooperation with University College Copenhagen, the West Jutland University College runs a National Centre of Excellence for Social Inclusion and Exclusion.
Tradition for participation in and coordination of international projects is long at the West Jutland University College.
The aim of international cooperation is to enhance the professional focus and fulfil the obligation to combine theory and practical work and contribute to the development of new knowledge and best practice. In many cases students, educators, researchers and professionals from different fields contribute to these projects.
