University Description
Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH - the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) is a school that came into being as a result of the dedication and commitment of the business community in Bergen. It has grown from a small city centre building to a purpose built campus on the edge of the city, with nearly 3,000 students and over 300 staff.
Academic programmes have been expanded from the original 2 year Handelsdiplom programme to cover a wide range of offerings across the spectrum of Bachelor, Master, Executive MBA and doctorate programmes. The faculty has grown and developed from a handful of professors to a strong academic staff, focused on research and developing new ideas. The student environment has from the first days been a vibrant centre of social, sport and business activities, and continues to develop its range of activities.
NHH and its faculty member have always had a strong international orientation, with a large number of our faculty member having obtained their PhDs from North American or European universities, and several of our professors are internationally recognised as leading authorities in their fields. Our participation in international research networks, exchange of faculty members, publications in international journals and international student exchange are all very important for us. We host a number of international workshops and seminars every year and frequently invite guest lecturers from overseas institutions.
