CIMO awards and administers scholarships for international students, postgraduate students i.e. after Masters degree or researchers i.e. post graduates after Masters degree or doctrates, teachers and administrational staff of universities. An average of 800 persons come to Finland under the various scholarship programmes every year.
Scholarships are offered to applicants from all countries, or to applicants from certain countries only, depending on the scholarship programme. Each scholarship programme has its own eligibility criteria, application procedures, application deadline and application form. A scholarship normally consists of a monthly allowance. The amount of a scholarship varies according to the scholarship programme and the academic qualifications of the applicant. No additional expenses, such as travel, housing or insurance, are covered by a scholarship.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are there for Masters program and Bachelors program in Finland through the European Commission. These Erasmus Mundus scholarships are not applied from CIMO, but from the coordinating university of each Erasmus Mundus Master's course.
